About Casey
Lately I find myself speaking in lyrics. Perhaps I’m not too creative. Or perhaps, music is so powerful, so satisfying, I find it unnecessary to think for myself. (Or, just maybe, at the ripe old age of 23, I’m turning into my father. Lord, help me.) Either way, here are some that I sing daily. They possibly sum me up better than I can.
“Don’t you worry there my honey. We might not have any money. But we’ve got our love to pay the bills. Maybe I think you’re cute and funny. Maybe I wanna do what bunnies do with you, if you know what I mean.” - Ingrid Michaelson
“I like to think about the time I met ya. Living with your people down in New Orleans. Mad at your momma cuz she never let ya, ride your nasty limousine.” – James Taylor
“Runnin’ from the cold, up in New England. I was born to be a fiddler in an old-time string band. So rock me momma like a wagon wheel. Rock me momma any way you feel.” - Old Crow Medicine Show
“I was walking with your left hand in my back pocket. And I stared at the sky when you kissed me. You were running away. Away from everything. And I stayed behind so you’d miss me. And all these words, they sound so sweet.” - Jessica Lea Mayfield
“Decide what to be, and go be it. There was a dream. And one day I could see it. Like a bird in a cage, I broke in and demanded that somebody free it.” - My dear, darling Avett Brothers
